Homeschooling Made Simple

Virtual Learning

Virtual Learning

Virtual Learning

Students learn through a digital platform and leverage the internet to access courses, educational tools, and virtual instruction. Self-motivation is needed to complete lessons and parents will have varying levels of participation depending on the program; some may offer lessons with a pre-recorded or live instructor.

Classical

Virtual Learning

Based on the works of ancient philosophers like Aristotle and Cicero, this method is based on the Trivium and focuses on three stages of learning: grammar, logic and rhetoric. Strong value is placed on history and critical thinking, and significant parent involvement is required.

Charlotte Mason

Virtual Learning

Charlotte Mason

Founded by Charlotte Mason, this method uses living books (as opposed to textbooks), nature studies, and short, focused lessons that encourage a love of art and nature. This is most suited for parents who can put in the effort but prefer a gentle, more holistic approach.

Unschooling

Charlotte Mason

This is a child-led approach based on the student’s interests. With no structured curriculum it offers a lot of flexibility, and learning happens organically through life experiences and play.

Montessori

Founded by Dr. Maria Montessori, this method encourages independence through hands-on learning in a prepared environment. It focuses on practical life skills, sensory activities and mastery of concepts at the child’s pace.

Waldorf

Founded by Rudolf Steiner, this method unfolds in three stages (early childhood, elementary and adolescence) with emphasis on rhythm and routine through art, storytelling and nature. It is designed to be slow paced, most notably in the early years. This approach discourages the use of screen time and technology.

Unit Studies

Project Based Learning

Project Based Learning

The curriculum is organized around a specific topic or event and incorporates all of the core subjects in a deeper study over a longer period of time. It can be used as a series of stand-alone lessons or as supplemental education to enhance your base curriculum.

Project Based Learning

Project Based Learning

Project Based Learning

Children learn by engaging in meaningful, hands-on projects. Instead of traditional textbook-based instruction, students explore real-world problems, challenges, or topics through in-depth, multi-step projects that integrate multiple subjects
